Comparing KN95 and N95 Face Masks

N95’s and KN95’s function similarly based on the performance requirements stated in the standards to which they conform and confirmed during testing. N95 conforms with the USA NIOSH standard, while KN95 conforms with Chinese GB standard.

Theoretically N95 are more expensive than KN95 for two major reasons:

1. The stringent USA “NIOSH” standard is costly, requiring investment and resource while the Chinese “GB” standard is less stringent and more cost effective
2. There are therefore fewer factories producing N95 compared with KN95
