With the original Cancer Society’s building destroyed in the Christchurch earthquake, they had been operating out of temporary accommodation. The new Canterbury Cancer Center, is a $22 million facility, located in central Christchurch. Boasting 50 modern spacious rooms, offering a home away from home for patients who need to stay in Christchurch to access cancer treatment. The rooms have been designed to be comfortable spaces where people can rest, relax, make themselves at home and have the ability to focus on what they need to get the best results from their treatment. The center also offers four family/whānau apartments for families who simply cannot be apart during treatment. These apartments provide ample living spaces giving families precious time to spend together.
With Vendella supplying the Cancer Society Domain Lodge, in Auckland, and Lion’s Lodge in Hamilton, the Cancer Society team were satisfied with the good service and quality of Vendella bedding products. With this referral Hannah, Facilities Manager, called us to request samples, and ultimately quotes to furbish the resident suites for their newbuild on Langdons Road. Vendella supplied top of bed pillows, protection and bedcovers to suit the décor of the rooms. Delivery was required at a much later date from time of order, so Vendella held the stock until completion of construction. Delivering it when requested, in one consignment, made the installation easy and seamless for the management team.
