Background.
DMS Progrowers are a Kiwifruit and Avocado management and processing operation based in the Bay of Plenty region. From humble origins back in 1989, and now having over 500 hectares, DMS is considered to be the most highly performing and largest kiwifruit management companies in New Zealand. Offering services such as orchard management and packing services, and being growers themselves, they have an approach to handling, processing and storing kiwifruit and avocado is fastidious, bordering on obsessive.
The Project.
DMS, like most larger growing operations in NZ, rely on the Recognized Seasonal Employer (RSE) scheme for a consistent labor supply during harvest and pruning period. In order to provide a “home away from home” for their valued Pacific staff, DMS have two staff accommodation villages, one in Te Puke and the other in Te Puna.
DMS wanted a turnkey solution for their seasonal staff, creating a welcoming, safe environment where they are able to relax after a day’s work. Quality, durable and fit for purpose products were crucial to ensure that DMS’ investment in their property and staff was of value.
