“I recommend you guys to anyone who will listen! I talk to anyone and everyone about Vendella because I think what you do is great, and you do it well.”
Reliable service was really important to the team at Ultimate Care Group. Being able to rely on Melissa and Vendella to take care of any issues in the background meant less stress for everyone.
Our values are a core part of our business and we like to align with clients who share these. The Ultimate Care Group is a family owned business with a good resident/consumer focus, so this made partnering with them a no-brainer.
What is your target market/clientele at Ultimate Care Group and where do you position yourself in the care market?
Ultimate Care Group are one of the largest privately-owned aged care providers. The majority of our residents are fully subsidised by government funding, and products from Vendella help ensure their comfort in pleasant surroundings.
How many beds & properties do you have?
We have 19 care facilities and 9 villages throughout New Zealand. The villages primarily are independent living for our guests, 4 villages have some care aspects, but the majority are independent living facilities. We have 1000 beds in care, and 250 units in our retirement villages.
What makes The Ultimate Care Group unique?
We are family-owned, we are about re-investing back into residents, not having to please shareholders means a lot of money goes back into providing really good care. We don’t tend to focus on ‘bricks and mortar’ so to speak, we tend to invest in things that mean something for the resident. Being able to invest in nicer things for our residents makes them feel more valued. Our residents have experienced big changes so we want to provide the best for them.
What are the challenges you face in sourcing the product your residents and staff need?
The magical price point and quality. Everyone struggles with that balance, how much are you prepared to pay, and then what are you getting in return. To find something that is going to stand the test of time is right up there. The sustainability side of it is really important, I think it is part of our social conscience and what we need to think about long-term so we are not creating too much waste. Customer service is also really important. It was clear in dealing with Vendella, you are passionate about your customer.
What is most important to you in a supplier?
Being able to provide commonsense control, and help advise our managers on what and when to order. Creating a seamless experience that was easy across all sites.
What made you decide to partner with Vendella?
The main point was the managers’ concerns about quality across the board at Ultimate Care Group, and the supplier relationship Vendella offered us. Melissa put together some cost comparisons for us which we didn’t have time to do ourselves and that made it really easy for us. It was a no-brainer really.
How have you found your partnership with Vendella since it begun?
Perfect, I’ve had nothing but positive comments back from our regional managers, they just absolutely adore what Melissa does day-in-day-out. We loved your acronym DIFOT – delivered in full on time, and we haven’t had any issues at all and everything has run smoothly. It’s reassuring because everything works as it should.
What would you say if someone asked you if they should do business with Vendella?
I recommend you guys to anyone who will listen! I talk to anyone and everyone about Vendella because I think what you do is great, and you do it well.
